LVBA Pitch Count Rules

Updated: 1/18/26

Below is a summary of the pitching rules observed by LVBA.  Click here to see complete list of LVBA Regulations & Rules.

PENALTY: There will be ZERO TOLERANCE if a manager pitches a player without the necessary rest and following rules laid out below and listed on LVBA pitching rules sheet.  If violated the manager will be ejected from the game and suspended for 1 additional game

For In-House, a player's age is determined by their age on the upcoming August 31st.  In the case a player is playing "down," their pitching rules will follow that of a year younger.  For example, an 11 year old playing in AAA will follow the 10 year old limits.
For travel, a player's age is determined by their age on the upcoming August 31st or the the age of their travel team (i.e. 12U), whichever is less.  For example, a 10 year old playing 12U follows 10 year old limits and 13 year old playing 12U follows 12 year old limits.

If a pitcher reaches the daily/weekly limit referenced above during an at-bat, the pitcher may continue to pitch until one of the following occurs:

  A) The batter reaches base

  B) The batter is put out

  C) The 3rd out is made to complete the half inning or game

The pitcher; however, will be required to observe the days of rest required for the threshold reached during the at-bat and must be removed before delivering a pitch to another batter.

For LV Baseball teams participating in any tournaments (preseason, mid-season, and postseason, with the only exception being Cooperstown), the tournament pitch count rules should be followed.  However, the per player max for any LV Baseball player shall be 125 pitches for the tournament (Friday-Sunday), with daily limits of 50 pitches for ages 7-8, 75 for 9-10, 85 for 11-12.

Catcher Rule:

  A) A pitcher who delivers 41 or more pitches in a game cannot play the position of catcher for the remainder of the day

  B) Any player who has played the position of catcher in 4 or more innings in a game cannot pitch for the remainder of the day
