I am very pleased to be given the opportunity to serve Lenape Valley Baseball Association and to help make this an enriching experience for our kids as they develop over the next several years.  I have been asked why I would want this responsibility.  There are two reasons; the first is our fields. In the 1960’s, I played on the very same fields our kids play on today. The only difference in the fields today and what I played on is the stones and dirt has been raked over many times.  I would like to see if there is anything we can do to help enhance the playing conditions for our kids. The second reason is development.  I believe it is very important that the basic skills of baseball be introduced to our kids beginning in Tee-Ball and building as the kids move through the various levels and into the Junior and Senior Leagues.  We have plans to introduce clinics for the 2008 season to introduce these basics skills in Tee-Ball, Double A and Minor Divisions.  We will need volunteers working together within our league and the community to help make these changes.

You will not only see changes on the field; when you entered this website you may have noticed a new look to our homepage.  We are planning many good things for this site.  Each Division will have their own tab where the kids will be able to check on schedules, scores, standings and maybe even a photo or two of themselves from their games.  The site will also be updated each day during the season advising if the fields are opened or closed.  So, bookmark this site and make it a source for your Lenape Valley Baseball information.
