A Message from the President of LVBA concerning Connie Mack Baseball...

Dear LV Baseball Parent:

Chal-Brit Connie Mack is becoming part of the Lenape Valley Baseball Association (LVBA). Before we get into what it means to you and your son, let's go through the basics of Connie Mack Baseball.

Connie Mack Baseball is a national organization serving baseball players ages 12-16 years old. It is deeply entrenched as a solid summer league in the Bux-Mont region. The beauty is that the league starts near the end of the Lenape Valley (Little League, Suburban, Juniors, ITL, etc), so baseball doesn't have to stop at the end of the school year. Regular season games typically start the week before Memorial Day, and run until the beginning of July. Playoffs run through the end of the month.

There are several levels of ball, primarily based on age and ability. Games at every level are played against surrounding communities such as Doylestown & Warrington, but we also play teams located in Quakertown and Towamencin among others. Chal-Brit Connie Mack has been in the Bux-Mont League for decades. Earlier this decade, the "A" team won the Pennsylvania state title. Several other teams (at each level) have won league titles in the recent past.

In case you didn't already know, Chal-Brit Connie Mack has never been directly associated with Lenape Valley Baseball.

Bringing Chal-Brit into LVBA provides opportunities/efficiencies for both organizations. This means there'll be a documented, formal operating structure for Connie Mack - complete with it's own board. We'll be better able to stay on top of league developments and deadlines, establish a formalized approach to selecting managers & coaches, and for selecting teams (some teams will have try-outs). This merger will also benefit everyone with regard to scheduling games and registration dates. So, for all parties this is a win-win.

Now that you have the history, you'll want to know how to sign up.

If your son is interested in playing Connie Mack, please respond to this e-mail by Wednesday March 12th advising of your intention to sign-up. It is very important if you plan on participating that you respond, because we must register teams with the Bux-Mont League at the next Connie Mack Meeting.

The cost is $195.00 for A-team and $150.00 for all other level teams (B or C). Checks should be made out to LVBA and returned along with the attached registration form. You have the option to pay in three installments or send the complete payment at one-time.    Payment # 1 -   full payment or $50.00 must be received by March 21, 2008    Payment #2 -   $50.00 must be received by April 18, 2008    Payment #3 -   $50.00 (B and C-Team) or $95.00 (A-Team) by May 16, 2008.The A-team will be determined prior to the May 16th payment deadline. If a full payment is being made now, you can make the payment of $150.00 and pay the balance by May 16th if your child makes the A-team.

If you have interest in Managing a Connie Mack team or being an Assistant Coach please complete the attached coaches application and return along with the registration form. The LVBA Board will review applicants and name coaches by April 15, 2008.

The LVBA website, www.lvbaseball.org will be updated to include information in reference to Connie Mack baseball.

Please note if you have already registered at one of the previous registration earlier in February there is no need to re-register. If your child is not selected for the A-Team $45.00 will be refunded.
